Pietisten

Lorraine Johnson

1918 — 2016

Lorraine Johnson of Covenant Village, Golden Valley, Minnesota, died at age 97 on Jan. 20, 2016. Lorraine and her late husband Curtiss Johnson were supporters of Pietisten, both in its Minneapolis and Seattle versions. At Curt’s memorial service in 1999, their grandson Karl Nelson met Phil Johnson, and shortly thereafter became the online editor of Pietisten. That connection led years later to Pietisten’s headquarters moving from Minneapolis to Seattle, staffed by Lorraine’s grandsons and their friends.

Lorraine was a lifelong member of Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton, Minnesota. She was the mother of Bonnie Nelson (Bryce), Bruce Johnson (Patty) and Dewey Johnson (Kate); aunt of Dean Erickson (Donna); grandmother of five grandsons (Karl, Eric, Nate, Matt, Michael); and great-grandmother of six. Lorraine was a supporter of Covenant institutions, including Salem Covenant Church, Minnehaha Academy, North Park University and Covenant Village.
