Pietisten Annual Meeting Report, October 15, 1993
President Tommy Carlson called the meeting to order in the Lower Fellowship Hall of First Covenant Church, Saint Paul, Minnesota at 6:30 pm. Tommy read the letter from Penrod that was printed in the Fall issue.
The devotions were led by Peter Sandstrom. His remarks are printed in this issue.
Secretary/Treasurer Phil Johnson gave the financial report. At that time, 1993 figures were for nine months only. Figures for all of 1993 are now available. Income for the past three years is as follows:
| Year | Income |
|---|---|
| 1991 | $6364.65 |
| 1992 | $4106.50 |
| 1993 | $5333.00 |
In 1991 we received $3424 in gifts, one gift totaled $3000 and explains whey our 1991 income exceeds the past two years. With this extraordinary gift we were able to obtain a hard drive and a MacIntosh Laser Printer, which serve us well.
As of the Fall Issue, there were 553 subscribers to Pietisten, and 133 persons receive complimentary or promotional copies. A total of 686 copies of the Fall issue were sent out. Of these, 655 were sent under our third-class, nonprofit permit, and 31 were sent out of the country.
It costs about $850 to print and mail an issue. There is cash on hand and all bills are paid. The sources of income for 1993 by amount and percentage of total income are as follows:
| Gift Subscriptions | $ 804 | 15.1% |
| New Subscriptions | 416 | 7.8% |
| Renewals | 2451 | 46.0% |
| Advertising | 700 | 13.1% |
| Gifts | 963 | 18.0% |
| Total | $ 5333 | 100.0% |

After a discussion of promotional ideas and equipment needs — in particular, the MacIntosh Powerbook (laptop computer) with which I am typing this report — and after the editors expressed appreciation for all the articles and letters from our contributors, David Hawkinson closed the meeting with prayer. We adjourned to attend the Hymn Festival in honor of one of our deeply missed contributors — J. Irving Erickson. We wish to thank all the members who attended the meeting and all of you who support us in so many ways.
