Pietist Pilgrim’s Progress

“How goes it with my walk?” you ask
with honest ears to listen
without a predetermined box to check.

And I reply…

“I’m making progress on the path.
I’ve stumbled!
No! I fell if you must know.
My bleeding knees (and pride) are proof.

“There have been detours on my journey.
Quite often the climb has been steep
with curves to which I’ve been blind (and unprepared).

But I’m content to slowly go
and ponder what I see
while grateful for your question.
It’s a gift!”
